Time-Space Weighting for Image Sequence Quantization

This paper introduces a method for quantization of image-sequences which takes into account the human sensitivities in both space and time. A weighted clustering approach is used for quantization which allows exibility in the choice of weights. Assigning weights proportional to the space gradients and the time gradients is shown to produce better quantization of color image sequences.

Image Restoration Using A PDE-Based Approach

Image restoration is an essential preprocessing step for many image analysis applications. In any image restoration techniques, keeping structure of the image unchanged is very important. Such structure in an image often corresponds to the region discontinuities and edges. The techniques based on partial differential equations, such as the heat equations, are receiving considerable attention i...

Image Sequence Restoration: A PDE Based Coupled Method for Image Restoration and Motion Segmentation

This article deals with the problem of noisy sequences of images with a static background. The problems are: the segmentation and the restoration. Usually, motion segmentation and image restoration are tackled separately in image sequence restoration. Moreover, segmenta-tion is often noise sensitive. In this article, the motion segmentation and the image restoration parts are done in a coupled ...

Robust image restoration for ground-based space surveillance

Myopic deconvolution from wave front sensing (MDWFS) is a powerful tool for high-resolution imaging. It is typically used with monochromatic, short exposure images with integration times less than the coherence time for the atmosphere, and Shack-Hartmann wave-front sensor data where the number of sub-apertures across the pupil is commensurate with the turbulence strength D/r0 where D is the dia...
